Walford Mill
Walford Mill is a Grade II listed mill in Wimborne, providing a unique home in East Dorset for artists, designer makers, workshops and exhibitions. Visit and be inspired by artisans at work inside the historic riverside mill, enjoy the tranquil courtyard and taste delicious food and drink at Little Pickle at the Mill Café.
Dating from the late 18th century, the mill harnessed the power of the River Allen until the 1960s. Now run by the Walford Mill Educational Trust, the charity encourages, promotes and maintains the highest standards of contemporary arts and craft work in the region. During your visit, you’ll find craftspeople at work, inspiring exhibitions, events and a selection of unique, handmade crafts to browse and buy. Entry is free, and dogs are welcome.
The mill’s exhibitions feature an exciting mix of individuals and groups displaying some Dorset’s best creative work available to purchase. On the first Saturday of every month, the mill’s courtyard also hosts a market with local artisans selling their crafts.
Walford Mill also hosts a programme of events and workshops, from willow weaving to ceramics and artwork to woodwork. Check out the links below to plan your visit and book your next course, class or event.
